The Brown’s Do Denver

I start my day with a workout. I have an exercise room with a Sole treadmill and some free weights and exercise bands. I use an app that takes me through a 45 minute workout. I always feel very virtuous when I work out. I had good intentions to work out in Vegas, but you know what they say about good intentions.

Dave and Tessa are going to Denver for the day with mutual friends who we all know from the Grand, Tricia and Mike Lewis. They live in Morrison, which is Southwest of where we live.

I actually have only met Tricia and her daughter, Alli, once when we were at the Grand at the same time. Tricia and I have kept in touch since then.

I met her husband, Mike, when they arrived to pick up the Brown’s at twenty after ten.

Tricia and Mike take Dave and Tessa first to the Botanic Gardens in Denver.  They get a private tour from one of the volunteer guides.

The Botanic Gardens are beautiful and provided quite a few photo ops.

All that nature made them hungry and thirsty. They went to lunch at the Rock bottom Brewery.

Next stop was the Denver Mint. Unfortunately they had already distributed the allotted number of tickets for the day. However, Tricia overheard a Canadian lady who lives in Denver and runs an exchange school saying she had a couple of spare tickets. They were at her place but said if Tricia and Mike could go get them they could have them.

They made it back just in time. There were only 2 tickets so the Brown’s did the tour.

Dave and Tessa enjoyed the 40 minute tour. They reported that the tour guide did a very good job.

Next they did a bit of a pub tour. First stop was The Hungry Hamster.

Then they walked to Pints Pub.

Zung and I drove to Denver and went to the 5280 Burger Bar on 16th Street to meet the four of them for dinner. The burgers were good. In my opinion these are the best burgers in Denver. There is one close to our house, so we don’t have to come all the way to Denver for a great burger. The Sangria was really good too.

After dinner said goodbye to Tricia and Mike and took the Brown’s home. We had some drinks and then went to bed.

We had more mountains to explore tomorrow. My worries about the altitude would come true.
