Zung’s Birthday – Part 2

We go back to the room. Someone started to fill the bathtub, and apparently forgot and it is almost overflowing. We find out later that is was Jesus. He ‘fessed up the next time we saw him. We caught it before there was any disaster. No harm, no foul.

We do the Jacuzzi on the balcony. I really enjoy that. While the bathtub jacuzzi is comfortable for two people, the balcony jacuzzi is really comfortable for two people. It does however take longer to fill up.

We get ready for dinner. I wear my sparkly dress that I wore for New Year’s Eve. When I wore it for New Year’s Eve I had to wear boots to the restaurant, and change into my shoes after we arrived, because there was a lot of snow. There is no snow here!

We walk to L’Atelier, the gourmet/French restaurant. We are seated at a table with rose petals on them. Alberto comes to say Happy Birthday to Zung.DSCN5027DSCN5028

Zung has the bouillabaisse.

I have the paté, which is served with toast..

Zung has the Blanqueta of Beef with rice pilaf. It is veal.

I have the duck. I’ve had it before and enjoyed it. This time it is a little tough and stringy. Not terrible, just not as good as it has been in the past.

Zung has dessert, the apple tart with lemon sorbet. Although, it really isn’t a tart, and it’s lime sorbet.

When he is finished with his dessert, they bring him out a birthday cake, complete with candle, and sing to him. That is nice, and the first time that has ever happened. It is a nice, yummy cake.

We head to the bar, stopping to take this picture, which is one of our favorites.

We hang out at the bar and Joe and David show up. We spend the rest of the eveing with them. Drinking. A lot. A lot lot. They are now officially two of my favorite people. I am so happy our vacations overlapped for a few days this time. I do however wish I hadn’t drunk so much. There were martinis and chocolate cake shots. Enough said.

When we realize how much we have drank, we call it a night and go back to the room. There is champagne and chocolates in the room. We decide to save the champagne for morning and order breakfast, including mango juice for mango mimosas. We do eat the chocolates.

The mimosa plan sounded good. You know what they say about the best laid plans.
