Bargains and Roka Akor

I check in at the Hyatt. I text Nicholas that we are there. He arrives and then Zung arrives. They watch the 49ers/Packers game and I go shopping at Union Square. I walk around a lot, going down some of the side streets I’ve not been on before. I get hungry and go to Neiman Marcus for afternoon tea. They tell me they have no tea pots. What? They have a large group and at the moment are out of tea pots and it will be 15-20 minutes until they have more. They tell me I can go to the coffee shop downstairs and they’ll have tea and food. I find it and have a cup of tea and piece of cake.

I go to Macy’s and they have a dress that I tried on in October at BCBG and decided not to get.It would have needed some alterations and was pretty pricey, although amazing. I’m not sure if I got a smaller size, but this one needs no alteration. This picture is from our Mexico trip, when I wore it.

It was on sale at Macy’s and the girl who rang it up gave me an extra discount because I was a visitor to San Francisco. That’s the only time I’ve gotten that!

I am so tired and go back to the hotel and take a nap. Nicolas works out in the exercise room.

There is a spectacular sunset.

We get ready for dinner. We are going to a restaurant called Roka Akor. It says it is a steak, seafood and sushi restaurant.

Nicholas is meeting us at the restaurant and we arrive before he does. We order a bottle of wine.

Nicholas arrives and we choose our dishes for dinner.

We get a variety of dishes that were all good.

The service was definitely not Michelin level, but it’s not a Michelin starred restaurant. I’m getting to be such a snob, aren’t I?

Our food presentations are pretty standard but we can see that some of the dishes have really spectacular presentations. All in all, it was a very good dinner. Getting to share it with Nicholas was part of what made it so good.

We take an Uber back to the hotel, dropping Nicholas off first. He will come meet us for breakfast tomorrow and we will get a late check out and have a late lunch and do some shopping and then catch a late flight home.

At least, that was the plan.
