Our morning is as un-taxing as it can get. We read, we drink, we enjoy the view. We discover a tiny little plant and wonder how it possibly got there, right next to our chair.
Zung watered it. But by the end of the day, we couldn’t locate it again.
The evil animal photograph people were making their rounds. All I could think of when I saw them is that this poor monkey is probably drugged.
We took some pictures to show the proof of how much we’ve been working out. We joined a fancy gym (Lifetime Fitness) back in February. Before that I worked out in a no-frills gym maybe twice a week. I just could not motivate myself to go more often. My best friend, Erika, convinced me to check out Lifetime and I convinced Zung to join with me. Well, I am here to tell you, a fancy gym creates a lot more motivation. I now work out 5-6 times a week. Zung doesn’t want to feel left behind, so he goes almost as often. He has often looked at me in the last eight months and said, “Excuse me. Who are you and what have you done with my wife?” I decided that I have no intention of growing old gracefully. I am going to fight it every step of the way.
It was soon lunch time. My, how time flies when you’re doing nothing.
We walked over to the pool bar where Daniel was waiting with a full supply of cucumbers. He made us our cucumber mojitos and then he and Zung compared car pictures. (Zung can talk car to anyone). I asked to see a picture of his son. He told me that at his son’s birthday party he had three pinatas. Daniel is so proud of his son. He loves to talk about him and I love listening to him talk about him, his pride obvious.
We sucked down our cuke mo’s (they are so light and refreshing). We went in to Las Brisa and had Martin as our waiter today. Mary (aka whiskeykat) had shown us a picture of him and said he ran all over the place. He was certainly high energy. By the end of the meal I think I have found a replacement for Alex. That didn’t take long. (But, alas, in the end, it was not to be.) He tells us to ask for him at breakfast the next morning.
He brought us our standard lunch drinks, a Havana and coke for me and a Victoria for Zung.
Zung wants his hat in the picture so he can send it into his BMW forum. He has a 330i that he races and I say it’s his fourth child. It keeps him occupied and happy. I have made the comment more than once that if he spent as much times as he does on his car, on another woman, I would be very, very jealous.
Zung decides to order something different today. He gets Grouper, the fish of the day, and grilled shrimp. The shrimps are huge, but they have all their parts attached and I am seriously grossed out. I can’t watch him eat them.
He says they are delicious. They are also messy. Martin brings him wet cloths to wash his hands.
We also got a plate of french fries that were fresh and hot. Perfecto!
I went to the buffet and got a little of this and a little of that.
Zung orders a cappuccino. Martin suggests a side of Amaretto. This is ALOT of alcohol for him. (Can you guess what he did when we got back to the beach? I’ll give you a hint. It starts and ends with “Zzzzzzz.”)
We stopped by the room to take a picture.
Zung took a nap and I took pictures from my perspective.
It was a leisurely afternoon.
I had a Mud Slide aka milkshake for grownups. Yumm. One of the beach butlers comes by a has cool scented towels. They were nice. Never got that again, but it was very nice. Joel, the beach butler from the day before, came by to say hello and ask if everything was okay. It was better than okay. It was awesome.
Star Friend came by recruiting for the volley ball game. I asked where the yoga on the beach was and she pointed to the other section. At 4:25 I went off in search of it and could find no one doing any yoga or any Star Friend hanging around looking like he might be waiting for people so he could lead a yoga class. I went back to our chairs and put a towel down on the sand and did my own yoga for a bit.
There was what looked like a vow renewal. It was really quick and just the couple and one other person. ( I hope they didn’t pay $2000 for that).
We hang out on the beach until it is time to go in to get ready for dinner.
It had been just another beautiful day in paradise.
