Awesome Adult Beverages for Vacation

Over the years I have tried many yummy drinks in Mexico. Here are some of my favorites and some I am going to try when I am there in TEN days!

Havana rum and coke or just about anything. The Siete is the best.

It’s good neat as well.

My BFF, Karen, likes it on ice. (I think the ice dilutes it and you don’t get that sweet, rum taste).

There is the ever popular Margarita. Not being a fan of tequila, this is not on my list of must haves.

The Riviera Maya is good, as long as it is not made to sweet. It has Midori, Orange Juice and Grenadine and it is layered.

A Miami Vice is half Pina Colada and half Strawberry Daiquiri.

A mudslide is a blended drink that has Kahlua, vodka, Baily’s and cream. I call it a milkshake for grown-ups.

I also love the Coco Loco. It is another blended drink made with rum, coconut cream and milk.

There is the ever popular Mojito.

My favorite bartender, Daniel, makes a variation that I requested, a Cucumber Mojito. He purees cucumber with the rum and then makes it like a regular Mojito. It’s not as sweet and it’s very refreshing.

The Blue Hawaii is pretty but was blah.

I’ve had a drink recommended called a Silk Stocking. It has Tequila, Creme de Cacao, Grenadine, Cream, and Cinnamon.

An Acapulco Cream has Tequila, Cinnamon, Orange Juice, and Coconut Cream.

If you have a great drink, let me know in the comment section.

  1. Hi Andrea,
All of those drinks look pretty yummy. Unfortunately, rum is not high on my list of favourites, following an unfortunate experience at age 18. My drink of choice at Paraiso is cerveza negre and lots of them, followed closely by margaritas and tequilla shots ! I hope that you and the gang will have the opportunity to indulge in many new and old favourites on your upcoming visit to the Riviera Maya.
As one of your two consistent votes from the beginning, I want to let you know that I have enjoyed reading this blog about your adventures at Paraiso beach. I trust that your next episodes will be just as entertaining, even if it’s not at the IB Grand ( traitor ! ). Have a great time !
