Hola Iberostar fans (those that are and those that will be)!

This is my blog about my experiences at and knowledge of the Iberostar Paraiso hotels I have been a guest at.

Iberostar has resorts worldwide. My experiences have been with the Iberostar Paraiso hotels in Mexico. Specifically the Lindo, Maya and Grand hotels. Iberostar Paraiso also has the Del Mar and Beach hotels. The Iberostar Paraiso complex is located midway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. In Mexico there is also the Iberostar Quetzal and Tucan in Playcar, Playa del Carmen and Iberostar Cozumel on the island of Cozumel.

I have stayed at the Maya once, the Lindo twice and the Grand four times. I have reservations to return to the Grand in October to celebrate my 50th birthday.

It’s obvious from the number of my repeat visits that I love the Iberostar Paraiso. It is beautiful. The service is outstanding and the staff makes it special. The food is very good and the drinks are cold and when requested, strong! The facilities are amazing no matter which hotel you stay at.

The Grand is the top of the line, adults only hotel that opened in 2007. My husband and I have had three wonderful, couples only, vacations there. Our first was to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday just a few months after the hotel opened. We must have loved it because we have returned repeatedly We took our first family vacation with our three children to the Lindo a little later that year (5 weeks later). It was one of our best ever family vacations. The next year my husband and I returned to the Grand in late April and the family returned to the Lindo in July. The July vacation involved a middle of the night ambulance ride to Hospiten Cancun and my husband spent most of that vacation in the hospital. As a result I have experience with medical care in Mexico as well. My husband and I returned to the Grand in February 2009 and in June 2009 the family stayed at the Maya. My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary by renewing our vows, so I have experience with a vow renewal in Mexico as well. August 2010 brought the entire family to the Grand to celebrate many milestones and is known as our Milestones in Mexico trip.

I have eaten at all the restaurants at the three hotels, ordered room service and drank countless drinks from the various bars. I have laid on the beach, sat at the pools, floated in the lazy river, sat through the shows, and shopped in the stores. I haven’t seen it all, but I’ve seen a lot.

I hope to share my experiences with anyone who is thinking about a vacation at the three hotels I have visited. I hope people who have visited these hotels will comment on their experiences.

I will begin with a day by day trip report of my most recent visit. This was our Milestones in Mexico vacation.
